Evo Green HVAC ("Evo Green", "we", "us") installs and services heat pumps and HVAC systems in British Columbia. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
In short: we only collect what we need to answer your request and prepare your quote, we never sell your information, we don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and you can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are and what this covers
This policy applies to personal information we collect through evogreenenergy.com (the "site"), including the instant quote and contact forms, and when you call, text or email us about our services. It does not cover other websites we link to.
2. Our Privacy Officer
We are responsible for personal information in our custody or control. Our Privacy Officer is accountable for our compliance with this policy and privacy law and is your contact for any question or request:
Privacy Officer, Evo Green HVAC

3. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number and how you prefer to be contacted.
- Property details — the address of the home, city and postal code.
- Home and system details — home type, year built, living space, floors, bedrooms, basement, whether you have ducts or vents, how the home is heated and cooled, where the equipment is and its condition, what you would like to improve, and any notes you add.
- Rebate eligibility — if you ask us to check income-qualified rebates, we may ask for your household size, a range for your combined household income and a range for your home's BC Assessment value. We never ask for exact income, tax returns, SIN or banking details online.
- Messages — anything you write in the contact form, by email or by text.
Information created when you use the quote tool
- The system we recommend for your home, the BC rebate programs you may qualify for, and an internal planning figure our team uses to prepare your itemized quote.
- From the address you enter: a formatted address, map coordinates, a satellite image of the property and an estimated building footprint, used to pre-fill and check your home details.
Technical information
- Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic request logs — IP address, browser type, date and time and pages requested. We use these only to keep the site running, secure and free of spam.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive information such as health information, and we ask you not to include it in messages.
4. How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you fill in a form, call, text or email us, or meet us for an in-home assessment.
- From Google Maps Platform, using only the address you type, to suggest and complete your address and look up publicly available map and building data.
- We do not buy personal information or collect it from data brokers or social media.
5. Why we use it
We use personal information only for these purposes, which we identify before or when we collect it:
- to respond to your request and contact you in the way you prefer;
- to recommend a suitable system, prepare your itemized quote and check which BC rebates you may qualify for;
- to book and carry out assessments, installations, warranty work and maintenance you ask for;
- to help with rebate or financing applications, only when you ask us to;
- to send a confirmation of your enquiry and messages about your quote or job;
- to keep business, tax and warranty records required by law; and
- to protect the site and our customers from spam, fraud and misuse.
We will not use your information for a new purpose without telling you and, where the law requires, getting your consent. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or to build marketing profiles.
The recommendation shown online is generated automatically from your answers as a starting point only. A member of our team reviews every request and confirms sizing, the final quote and rebate eligibility with you — no decision about you is made by the website alone.
6. Your consent
By submitting a form you consent to us collecting, using and sharing the information you provide for the purposes above, including with the service providers listed below. The rebate questions are optional. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting our Privacy Officer; if you do, we may not be able to prepare a quote or provide a service. We will tell you the likely consequences before acting on your withdrawal.
We do not share your information with rebate program administrators (such as BC Hydro or CleanBC / BetterHomesBC), manufacturers or financing companies unless you ask us to help with an application or warranty registration, and then only what that application needs.
7. Service providers and storage outside Canada
We use trusted service providers to run the site and our business. They process personal information only on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it. Some of them store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by courts and government authorities.
Vercel Inc.

8. Cookies, storage and tracking
- We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, tracking pixels or social media plug-ins.
- The instant quote saves your progress in your browser's session storage so you don't lose your answers if you reload the page. It stays on your device and is deleted when you close the tab.
- The Google Maps embed on our Contact page is provided by Google and may set Google cookies when that page loads.
9. Emails and messages
When you submit a form we send you one confirmation email, and then contact you about your request by your preferred method. These are transactional messages about something you asked for. We do not send newsletters or promotional messages unless you have separately given us express consent, and every such message would include an easy way to unsubscribe, as CASL requires.
10. How we protect it
- The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections with strict browser security settings.
- API keys and passwords are kept on our servers and are never sent to your browser.
- Form data goes directly into our private business accounts; access is limited to staff who need it to serve you.
- Our business accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-step verification.
- Forms are protected against spam and automated abuse, and inputs are validated and cleaned before they are stored.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
11. How long we keep it
- Quote requests and messages that don't lead to a job: up to 2 years after our last contact with you, so we can follow up on questions or a later project — then deleted.
- Customer records (quotes, invoices, installation and warranty details): for the length of the equipment warranty, and at least as long as tax law requires (generally six years after the end of the tax year).
- If we use your information to make a decision that directly affects you, we keep it for at least one year after that decision, as PIPA requires, so you have a chance to access it.
- Hosting request logs are kept only for a short period by our hosting provider.
When information is no longer needed we delete it or make it anonymous.
12. Your rights
You can ask us, at no charge, to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used and who it has been disclosed to;
- give you a copy of it;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete information we no longer need to keep; and
- stop contacting you.
Send your request to our Privacy Officer. We may need to confirm your identity before we respond. We will reply within 30 business days, as PIPA requires, or tell you if we need more time and why. If we can't fulfil part of a request (for example, because of a legal obligation to keep records), we'll explain why.
13. Privacy breaches
If a breach involving your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the appropriate privacy regulator as soon as feasible, as required by law, and take steps to contain it.
14. Children
Our services are for homeowners and residents who are adults. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 19.
15. Other websites
We link to government and utility rebate websites such as BetterHomesBC and BC Hydro, and to our partners. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
16. Questions and complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact our Privacy Officer first — we will look into it and respond. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or, for matters under federal law, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we make a significant change to how we use personal information, we will post a notice on the site and, where required, ask for your consent.
